We’ve been residing here for almost seven years now, but it is just today that I got the chance to visit the field where chess flowers or Schachbrettblumen grows. I am glad that Mrs. S. reminded me about it again. Schachbrettblume (Fritillaria meleagris) is an endangered species that grows wild in grasslands in damp soils and river meadows. If you want to know more about thhis rare flower, please visit Fritillaria Meleagris on Wikipedia.
