Bisaya nga ako, may reklamo?

Our topic of today class…is about Bisaya. Para sa mga tega northern part of our country, FROM DI ka (from the province) if you are a native Bisaya speaker. Hehehehe, eksperyens ko yan when I was in college (Manila). Tingin nila, I was lower than them dahil nga Bisaya eh. I raised my left brow and replied: “Yes, isa sa kanila ay kaharap mo!”. You may believe me or not, tumahimik ang mundo ko matapos kong sabihin yon.

Some if not many, felt intimidated kaya madalas nilang tinatago ang tunay nilang background. She was the first who asked me kong tega saan daw ako sa Pinas. I said I am from Davao and she said she’s from Cebu pero hindi na daw siya marunong mag Bisaya dahil super tagal daw silang tumira sa Maynila. It could be true…kaso lang ang intonation nang kanyang pagsalita nang Tagalog is soo Bisaya. Alam niyo na…Bisaya matigas ang dila. Well anyways, few minutes later…may iba pang mga bisitang dumating. That lady tagalang hilaw approached the newly arrived guests. She was talking in Bisaya!!! Kakasabi niya lang sa akin na hindi na siya marunong and all of a sudden…nag Bisaya siya? Ngeekk what a fake.

Just recently may na-meet ako ditong Pinay. In between her blahs…medyo nagkandahirap na siyang magtagalog. Kaya I told her na: “Oy alam mo, mabuti pang magbisaya nalang tayo para hindi ka na mahihirapan pa.”

The bottom line of the story is that one should be honest and true to oneself, to avoid embarrassment or awkward situation.

Why pretend to be someone you’re not? Are you afraid that people might belittle you? Or are you ashamed of your roots? Eh ano ngayon kong Bisaya? Ano ba ang dapat diyan ikahiya? Wala!

Concerning the people naman na mahilig mangutya sa mga Bisaya. I think they are brainless that’s why they do that…pangungutya sa kapwa.

I am a Filipina, a Bisaya one and I am proud of it. O ano, may reklamo?

From West To The East

Let me start with “from Philippines back to Alemanya” episode muna tayo ok?

Around February this year, I am sure you remember that I wrote an entry about going or migrating back to the good old bayan kong (nating) Pilipinas. The preparation and everything went smoothly. First week of June, Kathleen was enrolled in Ateneo de Davao H.S and Gillian in Circular Home Pre-School.

Right after the enrollment stress, I went to my birthplace Butuan City to manage my kapiranggot na lupa while waiting for the result of my queries regarding our planned business. Yes, hubby and I has planned to put up a clinic in Davao for tourist and expat patients. Siyempre, kong manirahan kami doon we need a source of income to live. Di vah? Akala ko/namin dahil may mga kaibigan kaming naka upo sa may talampakan ni GMA, (who promised to help us) things will be easier for us. That is what we thought, but later I realized that almost everything is different in real. Every move that I made means dukot sa bulsa, which was tiring in the long run at nakakaloka dahil slow ang feedback. Kids were sad as I told them that we have to go back. Siyempre nalungkot din ako but I had no choice. Anyways, THEY put stones on our way and make it hard for us to achieve success, so we left. Hindi sa pagmamayabang but we were ready to invest €XXX,XXX.XX, an adequate amount to operate a modern clinic with own laboratory. Well sayang, but it’s not our loss but theirs…

“FROM THE WEST PART OF GERMANY…TO THE EAST”

In spite of everything, hubby still decided to pursue his plan…dito nga lang sa Germany. Doon lang ito maari o posible sa lugar na may bakanteng “Niederlassung Stelle” or let say “Area of Need” where there is a shortage of specific medical practitioners. We actually had three (3) choices: 1. Usedom 2. Lindenberg-Allgäu and 3. Brandenburg. We decided for Brandenburg dahil mas malapit ito sa sibilisasyon, Potsdam and Berlin for instance.

We have to move din sa lugar na ito of course and so we found a new place to live. Ito ngayon ang aming bagong tahanan.

It’s a 284 sqm. country style house, with 6 bedrooms on the second level, 2 bathrooms and one dressing room. While sa ground floor naman, we have a huge kitchen and dining, storage room, spacious and comfortable living room. There is also a sauna, a fitness and laundry room and an office space din pala which is occupied by my better-half.

Our clinic started its operation last October 1. Now, let me show around…

Below is the former “Landes Ambulatorium” (outpatient clinic) building, where our clinic is located.

But I think it was not yet the right time, so until then…I have to wait by the edge of my seat nalang muna.

Ukrayan Show In Studio Onnie

If you happen to be in Davao and looking for some fun. Then I suggest to visit Studio Onnie in Torres. Studio Onnie is a comedy bar owned by Connie, who is really cute and fun to be with, and a local celeb for ABS-CBN-Davao.

Did I say comedy bar? Buti nalang orelse walang tip. Ah basta’t kami ay nag-enjoy to the max at halos mapaihi ako sa kakatawa.

O Tukso Layuan Mo Ako!

Like Halo-Halo Special, Fruit Salad, Buko Pandan, Ube Cake, Buchi, Maja Blanca, Fried Banana with syrup at marami pang iba.

The other day nga, naghanap ako nang strapless na bra. The promo girl of Triumph has given me Cup B, but I asked for a bigger one. I told her to give me the largest size which is Cup DD. Bwahahaha, she was so surprised and she even told me na masyado daw itong malaki sa akin dahil double D na nga. She looked so puzzled so I explained to her na sa Germany, ang bra na size DD ay pwede niya nang gawing sombrero.

A friend in Belgium asked me through SMS kong ano daw ang mga latest gimmick ko ngayon? Well, since maulan lately, we have no outdoor activities at the moment. And to tell you frankly, I’m a bit bored kaya I decided na magparegister sa isang gym. Balak kong araw-arawin ang punta doon until end of this month. Araw-araw but of course iba’t ibang program ang ginagawa namin each day. I hope by that time, medyo may shape na ako para mas lalong maakit sa akin ang aking mahal na asawa (hehehe).

Year 2001 pala nung ako’y huling nakapasok sa isang gym, kaya you can imagine kong gaano ka tindi ang muscle pains na meron ako ngayon. But I am ready to take the pains rather than manatiling kasing bilog nang isang balyena. Ilang beses na akong nagtangkang magdiet noon pero dahil nga masiba, wala ding nangyari. Itong gym ang kahuli-hulihan kong pag-asa and I think pinaka-effective na paraan para medyo pumayat. Ngayon ay talagang tutuhanin ko na ito! Go Go Go Milo! Go for olympic energy, go Milo Milo Milooo.

Why Is It So Complicated?

It was raining hard I as went to downtown with my 5 years old son para magbayad nang mga bills. I used to go to SM Mall dahil meron silang collecting office doon nang mga utilities like PLDT, Davao Light and etc. I had no choice than to go to their office directly. It was already 4:35 P.M as we entered their office in Ponciano St., and I was glad because there were only two customers aside from us. The first time I went there to apply for a telephone and DSL connection, their office was sooo crowded. The guy who was standing in the front door handed me a stab with number 1147.

Few minutes later, tinawag na ang numero ko and I directly went to the table na itinuro nung mama sa akin. The guy encharge looks so unfriendly, he asked me in an unfriendly tone kong ano daw ang kailangan ko. I must admit that I was a bit intimidated, but then again…I had no choice. So ayon sinabi ko sa kanya na magbabayad ako and that I have no bill to present kasi nawala ito. He asked for my name and telephone number and after checking my account, he scribbled something on a kapiranggot piece of paper and handed it over to me. 3,210.97 Pesos ang figure na nakalagay doon. I was puzzled kong bakit ganun kalaki, so I asked him to tell me the details. The masungit guy said: “Maam, two months kayong hindi nagbayad kaya ganyan kalaki ang halaga.” And I answered: “What????? I paid my bill last month at sobra pa nga ito ng one hundred pesos. So please kindly explain kong bakit nagkaganyan!” He mumured something which I didn’t understand. Before he could open his mouth again, inunahan ko na siya. I asked him if combined ang bill from our former residence to the current. He asked me back kong wala daw ba akong bill na natanggap. “HELLLOOOO? Nakinig ka ba sa sinabi ko kanina? I told you na nawala ang bill kaya ako nandito.” He answered: “Ah basta! Me:“&/@°^§!ß?%$ Mister, let me tell you something…two months palang kaming nandito sa Pilipinas, and as I said, I paid the bill last month kaya huwag na huwag mong ipagdiinan na two months akong hindi nagbayad! Please be so kind and print me a copy of that damn bill so I can see the details.”

So then, he printed nga the bill and I saw there na may charge na 1,200.00 pala ang connection change. Ganun lang yon kadali intindihin noh? But just the same I am not paying anything na naka scribble lang sa isang pirasong papel. The masungit guy was just too lazy to print it, too lazy to stand up para pumunta sa likuran ng counter divider. Pinapahirapan pa ako!

The next mishap happened nung magbabayad na ako. It was just few minutes nalang before closing time. I went to the guy cashier (na mukhang tiyupi) and handed him the bill. Aba, sabi sa akin I need to pull another stab again. Dahil masunurin si Tita Poorshya niyo, tumakbong pumunta ako sa may pintuan. Pero noong kukuha na sana ako…the guy who assited me earlier said na cut-off time na daw. I went back to the cashier again, kaladkad si Gillian and told the person na wala nang number dahil close na ang box. He only answered coldly na “walang stab walang bayad”. I pleaded him na kong maari tanggapin niya na lang ito. He was so damned heartless and inconsiderate, talaga daw’ng NO. I was fuming with anger and left the counter saying WHAT A BULLSHIT UNFRIENDLY EMPLOYEES!

Hoy! Kayong mga tega PLDT Davao in Ponciano, if you think you have the kili-kili power just because you are sitting prettily at your desk. Please do not forget you are only employees and above all, servants of your customers. You should try to learn how to treat your clients nicely because you are not the only provider here in Davao. Got what I mean? My son and I were all soaked as we got there dahil umuulan that time. This is not without consequences…meron pang BAYANTEL dito na malapit lang ang office sa aminnnnn.

EB With Sofie And The Great Surprise

The EB Mania started when kids and I arrived in Manila. There I met real nice people whom I only knew through blogging. Si Sofie naman ay naging kabarkada ko rin sa blog, but we already got the chance to meet personally two years ago kasama si Atinna – isang kabarkadang blogista din na takot daw sa sausage (don’t know which one). From then on, hindi na naputol ang communication namin. Sofie emailed me before she arrived Philippines and informed me that she’s coming to the Durianland to visit us. I thought she was just kidding pero talagang tinutuo niya ito. Hehehe, may word of honor talaga ang bakletang ito. She arrived last May 2 and left yesterday evening. It was indeed just a very short visit and even if kaming dalawa lang…folks believe me or not…we had lots of fun.

On May 3rd, we decided to go to Paradise Beach Resort dahil fully book ang Pearl Farm. It was already afternoon as we arrived because we went shopping first. We actually wanted to buy some bottles of wine para dalhin ito sa resort. But I advised her not to because of the outrageously high corkage rate. So ayon wala na kaming binitbit aside from a pack of Puto, Kutsinta and Pili-pili. I understand that some guests are there to relax, pero paano nalang ang mga guests na katulad namin ni Sofie? Haay naku, basta’t I promised that they will never see our faces there again. Nevahh! May iba pang resort noh?

On our way to Paradise Beach in Samal Island.

And as we arrived home…a great surprise was waiting for me. A beautiful bouquet of flowers was neatly laid on our dining table.

And it was from my ever loving husband…

Schatz, du bist einzigartig auf dieser Welt…ICH HAB’ DICH SEHR SEHR LIEB.

Coming up next…EB with Reynz, Malen and Ambo here in Durianland next week!

The Face Behind The Blog

Tag 3

facebehindtheblog01.gif

Sori madlang pipol and sorry to the original author of this tag but I wanna dudadaa write my version in my language which is “Kauderwlesch”.

Hope you don’t mind at all, but if you do mind it…mahala na kayo sa muay niyo.

According to Cheh:
The very purpose of this assignment is to find out what a person looks like and gives you (readers) a better insight & gives you chance to actually see who’s writing to you.

David Airey says:
Putting a face to the name of someone you haven’t met helps recognition and adds a more personal feel to your conversations. What photograph shows you in a light we don’t often see through your blog?

NOW IT’S MY TURN

It’s my turn to see what I can see, I hope you’ll understand this time’s just for me because it’s my turn…la la la lala…

:thinking

DA PIS OP A BISDAK LUKARET DRAG QUEEN
faces.jpg

My name is Bond ah este Beng. I’m a queen – a (not so genuine) drag queen from Davao City – I’m bisdak/bisaya (soo proud of it) at kong ano-ano pang tawag nila diyan sa aming mga tega south. I espik bisaya (siyempre) and op kurs tagawog, then litol Hilonggo, litol Ilocano, beri litol inglis pero ay espik beri flwint aleman.

I studied Business Management in Siena College, Quezon City and I got married to a German Frog Prince after I graduated in 1983…blah blah blah. Yadda yadda yadaaah tralala.

The first Frog Prince became so malabo after several years of their marriage. The drag queen got extremely pissed, so she sent Frog Prince into the desert. Few years later, drag queen met a manggagamot na knight with his not really shining armour. After a short moment of pakunwaring pakipot, they finally decided to get married. And now, they live happily ever after…

wed.jpg

Ang parteng “KNIGHT WITH HIS NOT REALLY SHINING ARMOUR” ay may karugtong. Scart tagged me three times and the one I’m going to comply next is a wonderful meme about “the better half”. Knight With His Not Really Shining Armour would be the title :). Abangan ang susunod na kabanata…

This tag ends here!
