Conserve Energy And Save Money

A couple of months ago, I wrote something about the economy situation here in Germany, how prices increased and etc. In addition to this topic, an energy multinational company announced a price increase for heating oil and natural gas few days ago. Now what does that mean for us consumers? It simply means higher heating bills, and the cost will hit us right where it hurts, namely in the wallet.

How to keep warm this winter without burning piles of money? We should start by taking a look around our house. Maybe it is time to change the thermostats. What about the windows? Windows play an integral role in creating an energy efficient home. If your old windows have not been properly weatherized, cold air can be sneaky. You can save a lot on energy costs, if you consider repairing and double glazing your windows. Double glazing prevents heat loss, prevents drafts because of the two layers of glass which give a good installation barrier, rooms will be warmer and it saves on fuel bills.

If you decided to replace your windows with double glazing then don’t be concerned about how this will affect the look of your home. There is a wide range of window styles to choose from to help enhance the look of your house. You can choose from standard glass, to textured, down to decorative glass and fusion glass style.

Remember, windows are an essential part of your home and your life. And you want to enjoy all those moments without worrying about how your windows will perform.

Luckily I live where heating isn’t nearly as important as being able to stay cool during the summer (South East cost of the US). Different season but the issue is the same. I’ve been wanting to experiment with some “off grid” electricity production and I think this year with the continued rising cost of electricity I might just have to take the plunge.

  3. i live in Indonesia and i think we have the same problem about the energy. and also hurt the wallet to even we not see the snow. the fuel is rare and the gas is expensive.
