My Continuing Education

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

…is almost over now and so my life will be back to the normal routine again. Eight school days more and I’m done with my studies and I am looking forward to it. The past 5 months was tough and I could hardly believed I managed to pass the exams with an equivalent grade of superior achievement :) (look who’s bragging). But believe me, I was only able to achieved it with diligence and discipline. See, kong kailan tumanda saka pa ako naging seryoso sa pag-aaral.

I learned Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, CSS, Dreamweaver and last but not least PHP and MySQL. I had Javascript on my list but I dropped it due to lack of time. I decided to concentrate on PHP and MySQL since I find them very important. The fact that we were only given four weeks time to learn PHP already made me feel sick. Gush, I fully understimated this programming course. I realized it was something difficult to learn after flipping some pages of the manual. I started having doubts if I would ever undertand the whole thing. But whatelse can I do? I was in the middle of my studies and even if I was on the verge of going insane, I have to continue orlese I have to pay back all the money the government has paid for my continuing studies to the institute. Little by little, step by step I begun to understand PHP. I was even learning at home until late at night thus hubby started complaining about me neglecting him, thus I started having nightmares when I sleep. Sounds horrible huh? But hey, the reward of all my effort is a grade of 1.0. We had no written exam for this subject but a practical exam. This means we have to develop a script, I for instance decided for a blog.

Yes, you are reading it right, a blog. It is currently running on my server as a food blog (installed for my previous exam) named The Joy Of Cooking. It was a hard work and I sweat blood over each line of codes.

I Just Don’t Know

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

I guess I’m stressed or maybe I’m depressed, oh what the heck…I just don’t know why I’m feeling bad.

Gustohin ko man, wala ring mangyayari dahil blood is thicker than water ika nga. Do I really have to be understanding and patient all the time? I am sure you will say no, and yet how can I be different? It is what people expect from me. Oh shock, I just realized na ako ang may tupak.

I think I should bang my head on the wall several times para magiging clear ulit ang isipan ko. Namputsang buhay ito oo.

Fluid 3 Columns Theme

Releasing my second latest free Wordpress Theme for this year. Fluidity - I think the name sayz it all huh? This is my very first fluid/liquid creation and top of it all…it’s three (3) columns. I applied the famous Web 2.0 graphic design a bit to make it look trendy. I said a bit because I myself doesn’t like too much gradient and too bright colors. In my opinion, web design is exactly the same like fashion, everything should match and harmonize. Okay enough blah.

So, speaking of Fluidity, it’s widgets ready theme. But take note, only the right sidebar is widgetized. You can add your ads, Flickr Badge and whatsoever on the left sidebar. Just follow the structure of the tags if you don’t want your sidebar to be messed up. No plugins needed here. And yes, before I forget…this theme is optimized for search engines, and completely standards compliant. (more…)
